Getting Started

What is Refairly?: Refairly is an AI-powered conflict resolution app designed for everyday situations — between friends, roommates, co-founders, family members, colleagues, or anyone who needs to work through a disagreement. Each person privately shares their perspective, and the AI helps find a path forward that works for both sides.
Do both people need to download the app?: Yes. Both people need the Refairly mobile app. The person who starts the room shares an invite code, and the other person joins with that code. The other person doesn't need a paid subscription.
What kinds of conflicts can Refairly help with?: Refairly is built for everyday interpersonal conflicts — roommate friction, friendship tensions, co-founder disagreements, family situations, workplace tension, and more. If two people need to work something out, Refairly can help.

Can each person see what the other wrote?: No — and this is intentional. Each person's account is submitted privately. The AI sees both, but neither person reads the other's submission. This means both people can be fully honest without fear of judgment.
What if we still can't agree after 3 rounds?: The 3-round process handles most situations. If both people genuinely can't reach an agreement after all rounds, the session ends without one. Nobody is ever pushed into something they don't actually want.
Does the AI favor one side?: No — and this is by design. The AI has no relationship with either person and no stake in the outcome. It reads both perspectives the same way and can't be guilted, pressured, or charmed. Like any AI, it isn't perfectly neutral, but it's specifically built to hear both sides equally rather than take a position.

What does the outcome look like?: When both people agree, the outcome is saved as a clear shared summary — what was decided, what each person is committing to, and when. It's not a legal document. It's a mutual decision you both chose freely. You can export it as a PDF.
Can I export the outcome?: Yes. Once both people have confirmed the resolution, either person can export a PDF summary that includes the agreed outcome, each person's commitments, and the date.

Does the other person need a paid plan?: No. The person who creates the room covers AI usage for the whole conversation. The other person participates entirely free.
What AI does Refairly use?: All plans use Claude AI for mediation analysis. Claude tends to understand nuance well and suggest thoughtful paths forward. The Max plan also includes priority support.
What's the cheapest way to try Refairly?: The Weekly plan is just $0.99/week — enough to try a single case and see how it works.
